🏭 How is Red Label Made?
1. 🥣 Grain & Malt Selection It uses a mix of: Malted barley (for flavor) Grains like wheat or corn (for smoothness) 2. 🔥 Malting & Mashing Barley is soaked, germinated, and dried Then crushed and mixed with hot water to extract sugars 3. 🍺 Fermentation Yeast is added to convert sugar into alcohol Produces a beer-like liquid called “wash” 4. 🥃 Distillation The wash is distilled in copper stills This increases alcohol strength and refines flavor 5. 🪵 Aging The spirit is aged in oak barrels (minimum 3 years by law in Scotland) Develops color and smoothness 6. 🔄 Blending (Key Step) Different whiskies from various distilleries are mixed together This creates the consistent Red Label taste 7. 🧴 Bottling Diluted to ~40% ABV and bottled 🧊 How to Drink Neat (straight) With water or soda In cocktails (like whisky cola)
